Dear SBPOA Watercraft Owner,
One of the benefits of your SBPOA membership is the opportunity to store your watercraft (kayak, paddleboard, or canoe) at the West Beach on one of the bulkhead racks for a $25 fee. If you want a second spot (based on availability), there will be an additional $25 fee. Apply for one or more spots on the racks by submitting a rack application. One kayak, paddleboard, or canoe per rack spot.
Members in good standing who had a rack spot in the previous year, followed the SBPOA rack rules, and who renew their membership by April 1 will be given their same spot unless a change is requested and the new location is available. Rack spots are limited and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to new or renewing members after that date.
Watercraft can be placed on the racks as of April 1. Keep your watercraft locked at all times in your assigned spot. Please tag it with a USCG sticker showing your membership tag number and contact information. Be safe, and wear a personal flotation device (PFD) whenever you use your boat.
If your boat is too large or too heavy for the racks, you can store it east of the bulkheads on SBPOA property. Submit a Larger Watercraft application and pay the associated fee. Be sure that your rowboat or small sailboat is tagged with your member number, and secured so that it cannot break free in a storm.
To prevent the damage experienced in recent years during storms, all watercraft must be removed by October 1. If you need assistance removing your watercraft, contact SBPOA at sbkayaks@gmail.com in advance of that date.
If your watercraft is not removed by October 1, SBPOA reserves the right to remove and confiscate it, and your rack spot(s) will be reassigned to another member in the following year.
Thanks for your cooperation, and happy kayaking!
Cindy DeLuca, Watercraft Coordinator
