Welcome to the official online home of the Sound Beach Property Owners Association (SBPOA)!
For over 90 years, the SBPOA has worked to preserve the beauty and character of Sound Beach while fostering a warm sense of community among residents, members, and guests. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe and welcoming environment where people can enjoy the simple pleasures of sea and sand.
We are fortunate to have the longest shorefront of any private beach in the area, offering opportunities for both peaceful solitude and shared experiences with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether you are a longtime member with fond memories of summers past or a newer member looking forward to making memories of your own, we are proud to be part of what makes Sound Beach special.
We created this website to share our history, news, progress, and upcoming events while providing an opportunity to learn more about our organization and its mission.

Founded in 1929, the SBPOA began with a commitment to preserve and protect the unique shoreline and community of Sound Beach.
As a community-based, not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer board, the SBPOA has continued this tradition for generations. Through the dedication of our volunteers, the support of our members, and contributions from family, friends and neighbors, we have worked to protect our shared spaces and maintain the traditions that make Sound Beach such a special place.
Membership dues and contributions help fund the ongoing responsibilities of the Association, allowing us to preserve our beaches, maintain our facilities, and host events that bring our community together.
More than 90 years later, we remain proud to carry forward this legacy of stewardship, community and appreciation for the Sound Beach shoreline.

The SBPOA is responsible for preserving, maintaining, and managing the beaches, private beach-access staircases, kayak racks, parklands and Clubhouse that serve our community.
Our work includes:
These responsibilities are made possible through membership dues, contributions and the generous volunteer efforts of our members and the broader Sound Beach community.
At its heart, the SBPOA is about more than maintaining property. It is about preserving our shoreline, protecting the spaces we share, and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty, traditions, and sense of community that make Sound Beach unique.
Together, we are proud to be guardians of the Sound Beach shore and stewards of a tradition that began in 1929.
Thank you for visiting, and we encourage you to become part of our community!
